COVID-19 and Health Insurance
One of the unfortunate effects of the COVID-19 pandemic – in addition to individuals becoming ill and unable to work – is that they may lose their health insurance coverage if they lose their job. Free help is available, but they must act fast!
You may still be able to get coverage
North Carolinians who lost their health coverage due to COVID-19 are eligible to enroll in an ACA Marketplace plan (aka Obamacare) by going to HealthCare.gov. This opportunity is made available through a Special Enrollment Period that lasts up to 60 days from the date the consumer lost coverage.
